Chef Tony McClanahan known in the region for my 25+ years in the wedding industry, catering to upscale wedding clients and serving many special charity events in the area, First Fruits Kitchen is opened to bring individuals the convenient ability to have top quality meals at your dining room table.

It is my desire to bring the favorite recipes of my catering career, offered each Thursday evening for carry-out from my catering kitchen. Client satisfaction has always been my number one goal.

About Chef Tony-

The passion of cooking is a joy that has been instilled within me since age 15. During my adolescent years I worked for upscale restaurants here locally in East Tennessee. I learned cooking techniques ranging from trademark French recipes to Louisiana Cajun spices use. I learned formal dining room etiquette and Southern hospitality at a young age. I continued my foodservice career by enlisting in the U.S. Army. While in the military I secured a spot on the prestigious U.S. Army Culinary Arts Team. I competed in rigorous Culinary competitions, a memory of those days was going without sleep for 24 hours at a time to make the “Team” a “Dream”… I attributed to my team multiple Gold and Silver medals for my displays and recipes. To complete my foodservice training after my military years restaurant management was my next step. I worked for several companies in a management capacity before opening my own bakery and catering business in 1996. During the early business years I opened a coffeehouse and lunch restaurant in downtown Maryville for several years that was a rewarding experience to say the least. As the restaurant grew in popularity so did the bakery & catering business!

Cakes and Desserts – I offer unique recipes at First Fruits Kitchen, many recipes have been passed down through several family generations. These Bakery items have been consistent for over 25 years and a large East Tennessee following has been established. My clients all have their favorites. My bakery recipes are all fresh baked using top quality ingredients using a technique that has been my “signature” for years. I hope to become one of your favorite bakeries for desserts and special occasion baked goods.

Dinners – carryout every Thursday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm only. Stay tuned into my website for the weekly meal offering or check out my Facebook page FIRST FRUITS KITCHEN to see this week’s meal. Reservations for carryout is on a “first come, first serve” basis with a limited amount of fresh meals being prepared weekly. Please reserve your meal as early as possible for next Thursday. The meals offered will be my most popular wedding reception dinners, favorites from 1000’s of previous wedding clients.

Lunches – “drop-off” delivery for groups of 20 people or more. Give us a call to plan a gourmet lunch delivery for your office or gathering Monday-Friday during the hours of 10:00AM to 2:00PM. Reservations require a one week advance notice with a limited calendar.


Wedding Cakes – we offer a large selection of wedding cake flavors, designs and unique offerings to include fondant wedding cakes, buttercream-style wedding cakes, cheesecake wedding cakes and limited custom groom’s cakes. Give us a call to begin the planning process of creating your personalized wedding cake. Our calendar for wedding cake delivery/pickup is limited and we encourage clients to contact us as soon as possible to make wedding cake reservations.

Wedding Catering – Customized wedding reception offerings include hor d’oeuvre parties, dinner meals and theme parties, etc. Only drop off delivery or pick up is offered from our kitchen. Our calendar for custom catering is limited, so we encourage clients to contact us as soon as possible to make wedding catering reservations. 


First Fruits Kitchen specializes in cakes and desserts along with creating delicious dinner meals to bring Southern Comfort Gourmet to your table. We offer a weekly pick up day of Thursday at the First Fruits Kitchen from 4:00PM to 6:00PM each week by reservation. Visit our site often to know and order the menu for the week! Address:

Our pickup dinners are handcrafted recipes, created with the finest local foods available and packaged for your convenience to take and enjoy in your favorite place.
